Yes, new Sa Ding Ding video! The song leaked a little bit before and I wasn't too big on it - it's a very different style for her. But, after seeing the video, it's grown on me. As far as the really new songs go, I still think Tang La Ya Xiu is better. There video can be viewed here. S'pretty snazzy. I can't wait for her next album ;_;

BX has a new video out, too. It's for 4 days, one of the better tracks from I Have a Dream. I want his clothes though lol. I want the outfit he wears in the Luivriin khot video, too lol. Kiwi put out a video for Superstitous. It's... interesting. And the new Tokyo Jihen is fantastic 8D On the other hand, the new alan album blows. Next entry, expect a lot of YT embeds lol.

When I went to buy the book on Khubilai Khan, the Chapters website said they had it. This book was an older book, but was being reprinted for November. I thought they just had the older one, but we went twice and couldn't find it. One day there was like no one in the store, so I had 5 employees helping me. Their guess was that someone just moved, 'cause they only had one copy. The one was like, "It's probably somewhere, I mean, how many people wanna read about Khubilai Khan?" I do :( And then another one asked me if Mongolia was still a country O_O It's not like they were teenagers, more like middle-aged. Anyways, the third time they ended up having it, but it was the new edition. They had it in the store before the release date.

Speaking of TV shows, I don't get all the new Simpsons hate :( I've never found it to be bad. Of course, not every episode has been awesome, but it's still really good. The episode that was on on Sunday killed me. "See, he hasn't changed." "Yes I have, in ways you're only beginning to suspect." And "Ooh, let me try! *rolls dice* Lick eyes. *rolls* Spank hair. *rolls* Whisper into... ass! Ohhh, this game sucks." LMAO

The warm weather needs to stay

This is really cool: Chinese music/rock awards. Miserable Faith won a lot of the categories, including album of the year. I absolutely love that album of theirs ♥ Helen won in the female singer category, which is also awesome. Not particularly fond of the other nominees. But, I object to AK-47 getting best metal performance. I've actually only heard their second album, but it generally wasn't too pleasant; meanwhile, Voodoo Kungfu are killer; I'd choose Ordnance over AK-47, too. Hell, even Suffocated are better. Dude from Honey Gun and Spring Autumn also won a category and both those bands are good, so that's nice.

Worked four hours today. Fridays are pretty painful. All day tomorrow and then a couple of my friends are getting together and we're gonna watch some scary movies. Hopefully it'll be fun.

I did some serious shopping tonight: a black sweater and a red sweater from Dynamite, grey pants, a pink tanktop and a grey/pink striped sweater from Garage, a book from Chapters, flats and sunglasses from Payless (they had a really good sale on) and some underwear. I spent too much money lol.

So, after a month and eight days of waiting, I finally have it!

The Beatles Stereo Box Set

I used to absolutely hate The Beatles, but I came around and now I'm like obsessed. These albums are all remastered and come in nice new packaging. Go (jrocknyc) reviewed this set not long ago, but that whole thing was odd to me. Why would you buy something like this if you didn't like the artist to begin with? Remastering doesn't re-write the songs. I dunno. I also disagree that they're boring to the modern listener.

Please Please Me (1963)
I heard some complaints about the stereo remasterings of the earlier albums, because the music and vocals sound too separated. Vocals are on the left and instruments on the right. It's not as bad as people made it out to be, but there;s an weird echo on the left side from the voclas O_O Not my favourite album of theirs, but the songs are catchy and there's some covers. And the vocal harmonies <3 Two two best are easily their first single, Love Me Do, which, songwriting wise, sounds like a huge step up from the other tracks and that absolutely awesome cover of Twist and Shout. The non-single tracks for this album were recorded in like 10 hours or something like that.

With the Beatles (1963)
I think I might like this album more than Please Please Me, but not many of the songs are huge standouts. The songwriting and music are both pretty similar throughout the album. But, I did some comparing between the remastered disc and a previously released one, and it sounds so much clearer, but it's pretty noticible how the vocals are basically on one side. This album's just kinda... pleasant to listen to and the covers are quite good.
Best songs: It Won't Be Long, All My Loving, Please Mister Postman, Roll Over Beethoven, Hold Me Tight, Money (That's What I Want)

A Hard Day's Night (1964)
I think this is when they started making some really great music. This album has some key Beatles' tracks on it and is a lot more enjoyable than the previous two albums. There's a good variety in the songwriting, too. Great album :)

Beatles for Sale (1964)
This album didn't do much for me. Not too many tracks really grabbed me. It's one of those ones that you can go through entirely and feel underwhelmed at the end. I don't think this even made Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list. It's not terrible, but... not that great, either.
Best songs: No Reply, Kansas City/Hey-Hey-Hey-Hey!, Eight Days a Week, What You're Doing, Everybody's Trying to be My Baby

Help! (1965)
This album is really good. Full of catchy and well known songs. It lags a little bit towards the end, where the songs don't have anything all that unique about them; particularly from tracks 8-11. Really though, that's only a small portion of an otherwise great album.
Best songs: Help!, Night Before, You've Got to Hide Your Love Away, Another Girl, You're Going to Lose That Girl, Ticket to Ride, I've Just Seen a Face

Rubber Soul (1965)
Even though this album has one of my favourite Beatle songs (I'm Looking Through You), I didn't think I liked it much. I enjoyed it much more going through it again and found a good number of tracks I really liked. It's kinda folky sounding and quite different from Help!, even though they were released with only four months between them. The album was ranked number 5 on RS's Great Albums of All Time and is the first time the band used the sitar in their music.
Best songs: Drive My Car, Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown), The Word, What Goes On, I'm Looking Through You, Wait, If I Needed Someone

Revolver (1966)
I think it was George Harrison that said he viewed this album as a continuation of Rubber Soul. I don't know if I think of it that way. I also think they called this the 'acid album'. It's a bit more rockin' than the previous album and it has the really psychedelic Tomorrow Never Knows on it. It also has And Your Bird can sing; another favourite Beatles song of mine. The guitar ♥ Rolling Stone named this the third best album of all time.

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967)
Rolling Stone's greatest album of all time. Notable for not only it's songs, but for the techniques used. I dunno if I'd exactly agree with that, but it is a good album. Tons of diversity in the tracks and interesting compositions and there's nothing on here that's really skip-worthy. I'm not a huge fan of Good Morning Good Morning and I've heard Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds more times than I've needed to over the course of my life. I've been listening to Lovely Rita a lot lately; s'a fun, cheery little song.

Magical Mystery Tour (1967)
Definitely not my favourite Beatles album. There's a few really good tracks, but other than that I honestly don't like it very much. The songs just seem really dull. You can't deny the absolute greatness of Hello Goodbye. That song is fabulous, especially the ending part. The other songs... passable, not terrible, but aren't ones I'd really go out of my way to listen to. Maybe it'll grown on me. I dunno.

The Bealtes [White Album] (1968)
The Beatles' 2-disc monster of an album and RS' 10th best album of all time. Lots of tension during the recording of this, even causing Ringo to temporarily leave. There's so much diversity in the songs, but they're not all good (Honey Pie comes to mind, Revolution 9). I think this album's the most straight-up rock of their releases, but there's still influences of other genres and all four members contributed songs. You have the fast-paced Back in the USSR in contrast to the melancholy Happiness is a Warm Gun. The hard-rock stylings of Helter Skelter and the bluesy Yer Blues. I'm not even gonna mention anymore becuase they're all over the place, musically.
Best songs: Back in the U.S.S.R., Dear Prudence, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Happiness is a Warm Gun, Don't Pass Me By, Why Don't We Do It in the Road?, Birthday, Yer Blues, Helter Skelter, Cry Baby Cry

Yellow Submarine (1969)
Like half the album is instrumental. My guess is that it's just music from the movie. Yellow Submarine is an okay song, but not my favourite. Hey Bulldog's the only really good one; very good, in fact. I don't like All You Need is Love and the rest are just kinda meh sounding.

Abbey Road (1969)
Really their last album. the Let It Be sessions were done first, but everyone was so frustrated with them that they abandoned it and then worked on this album. Some absolutely fantastic songs, like Come Together are on this album and overall it's really good. There are no bad songs, but, as with some of their other releases, the rest are mostly in the meh category. At least this have the possibility to grow on you. Towards the end, there's a batch of songs not even two minutes lol; but there's some great ones in there.
Best songs: Come Together, Something, Oh! Darling, Octopus's Garden, I Want You (She's So Heavy), Here Comes the Sun, Mean Mr. Mustard, Polythene Pam, She Came in Through the Bathroom Window

Let It Be (1970)
I kinda went through this album without realizing it was even over. The songs are all pretty different from each other, but the ones I didn't mention are kinda underwhelming. I think, for me, I just need some time to warm up to a lot of the tracks in their discography. There's not a ton that I think are terrible, so I could easily see it happening.

Past Masters Vol. 1 & 2 (1988)
An album of songs that were'nt released on album. It's actually a really cool set. The Deutschsprecherin in me appreciates the two German tracks lol. It actually has some of my favourite Beatles songs on it and the alternate versions of album tracks are interesting. There's some pretty good covers on here, too. Yeah, overall I really liked this set.

5 - I've never encoutered 'isst' before. I guess you can translate is like 'ist' (is), but that's not the correct conjugation for sein (to be) with du (you). I thought originally it was like 'you are what you eat' or something lol

For my Holocaust class, we had to watch this film called Nuit et Brouillard (Night and Fog) which was horribly depressing. Like, I honestly had to look away at certain points. It's only half an hour, so if you're interested in it, here it is with English subs. We were discussing it in class and it's pretty interesting. The title comes from the German term 'Nacht und Nebel' which is literally 'night and fog', but means to do something in secrecy and was a term (along with many others) adapted by the Nazis for the killing of the Jews. I'll stop before I ramble lol.

I'm on an Ayu kick right now. It's been a while, but I get nostalgic listening to her stuff. Memorial address came out in 2003! 2003! It doesn't feel like it was six years ago ;_; I started listening to her in 2002, so RAINBOW was the first album she released when I was a fan and I was like, so fucking excited for that omg. My interest started dwindling after MY STORY was released and I don't think she'll be able to restore my love for her an artist. Her songs and lyrics are crappy rehashes of what she's done before and her voice is pretty awful. Regardless, she still manages to put out a good track every once and a while.

New Superfly is really good. I actually like the PV a lot, too. Huun-Huur-Tu's new release is so damn good. The first three songs take you away to grassy steppes *_* They performed in Michigan, but last.fm didn't let me know until that day D: JASMINE's new single is good. No More sounds too much like sad to say, though. CLUBBIN' has some attitude lol. I don't think I ever talked about MiChi's album. T'was very good, indeed. And Lady GaGa's Bad Romance is also really good. But, the new Sa Ding Ding song owns all. My God, I can't wait for her next album.

I need to go through my icons and make some new ones. These are gettin' pretty old. I made a new sig for AHS. Just kept it simple: some colouring adjustments, smoothing and text. It's passable, I guess.

Firstly, I want Tatsurou's hair. And Miya is looking pretty darn good himself. I listened to Tonbi the other day; I haven't listened to MUCC in so long (excluding listening to Kyuutai not long ago because it was like the only thing on my laptop). That song is so incredibly good, but I'm still not compelled to listen to them right now. The time will come lol.

So, we are having XBox issues, or something. We bought an XBox 360 Elite last month and it came bundled with Grand Theft Auto IV. The Beatles Rock Band works fine, but we went to play GTA the other day and it kept saying 'This disk is unreadable' a few minutes to a few seconds into the game D: Called Best Buy and I guess other people were having the same problem, so they gave us a new disc and it still didn't work. Called again and they gave us a new XBox and another new disc, saying it must have just been the XBox. It still doesn't work, but the other two games we got with the new bundle do D: Whhhhyyyy? ;_;

I bought volume seven of Family Guy on DVD this week and therefore I have spent way too much time infront of my TV. The episodes included are some of my favourites (Surfin' Bird, gay Peter, etc). Quite a few episodes are extended with scenes that were cut for TV, deleted scenes section, commentaries and other various things. I didn't know if I wanted volume 6 or 7, but I'm very happy with my choice. Ahh, that show is too funny.

Anyone else watch The Office? The wedding episode two weeks ago... I thought that was a pretty bad episode. Other than Andy crying at the dinner and like the last 10 mins, it was dull and not all that funny. The one on Thursday was good, though. Family Guy's been awesome so far, I've been enjoying The Simpsons (although I missed last week 'cause of Thanksgiving) and I don't think The Cleveland Show is as bad as people make it out to be. The first two weren't that great (but not terrible), but last week's was funny. I loled at the Cleveland Jr. bit.

I left all my homework for tomorrow :( I guess I'll only do the assignment due for Monday. And maye work on my papers. Fuck.

Sorry I haven't been commenting on anyone's journals lately. It's all school's fault, I swear. I had an exam tonight and it was all multiple choice on Scantron sheets, so we ended up getting our grades at the end of the lecture. I ended up with 90%, so I'm happy. Unfortunately, I have two exams on Thursday. Thankfully after that, I have a week off, but regardless, I fucking despise school.

Ugh school. If I could skip German, Second Language Learning Theories and Literature, I could tolerate it. The thing is, all my profs are good (three I've had before), but the courses I have to take suck D: My Auschwitz and Culture and Ideas from the Black Death Onward courses are good so far (except the latter is 3hrs long ugh). Literature's the worst though. I fucking hate literature classes. That shit is boring beyond belief and I don't care about the ~*deeper meaning*~ because none of it interests me.

My weekend was pretty good. I worked Saturday, but most of the time my sister and I played pool and darts. We've had a pool table since I was born, but I had never actually played until Saturday :O It was fun playing and listening to classic rock. If you go down to my basement, you can go down another small staircase and down there we have the pool table and dart board, as well as our laundry room, storage room, a bar and an old record/8 Track player lmao. The 8 track part no longer works unfortunately hahah.

We got an Xbox 360 and the Beatles Rock Band :) The last system we bought before this was a PS2, not even the thin one, so it's been a while. We got the limited edition of the Rock Band, which is not worth it, btw. But, it's so amazingly fun! I love the drums, but I generally stick to the guitar. The graphics are fantastic. The only thing is, easy for guitar is too easy (easier than for Guitar Hero, except the little things you have to hit are smaller in RB), even for the hard songs. Once I go to medium though, I find it hard to use my pinky lol XD

Last weekend when I had to work at the other library, I was asked to work 9-5 instead of 1-5, so I couldn't really say no. I thought it might be okay since Sandwich Festival was going on that day and it might get busy. Nope. I walked around bored all day. And I had to do crafts with kids D: The way the librarian told me about it, she made it sound like incase the other librarian needed help with it, but noooo I had to do it. It was a terrible craft for such young kids. And there was only like 6 that came the hour I was outside. The one librarian was like, "maybe there wasn't such a good turn out this year because of the shooting." lmao D: D: They put the libraries in really scary areas of the city and twice since I started working there, there's been shootings near the library. Thank God I'm done there. No more creepy guy! 8D (He asked me twice after the intial time to watch those DVDs ;_;)

My summer is almost over as I start back to school on Wednesday. I only have one class at 4:00 and then I work after that for 2 hours. Ugh, I don't want to go. Anyways, I'll probably post in a week-ish bitching about it all lol.

My mom made German Chocolate Cake today 8D Mmmmm, so good. I'm not a cake fan; the only kinds I eat are the Dairy Queen ice cream cake and ones you make out of a box. I hate the kind you buy in stores because of the disgusting icing, bleh.

I watched/finished watching some movies, so now I'm going to babble about 'em:

Wild China
Documentary about China's wildlife, nature and people. I didn't know when I bought it, but this was actually a 6 week TV special in 2008, when there were lots of TV specials about China because Beijing was hosting the Olympics. So, I had seen some of this when it aired, but thankfully didn't remember much. There's 6 different titles about a hour long each, plus a little making-of. Each episode talks about a different area of the country. Overall, it was a great buy. They captured absolutely stunning landscapes and equally interesting creatures, while talking about how people interact with both.

Mongolian Ping Pong
'Tis a film about a nomadic Mongolian boy named Bilike in Inner Mongolia who finds a ping pong ball floating in a river. Nobody knows what it is, until they ask a guy who was showing a movie and he tells them that it's a ping pong ball, but they still have no clue what that is. Later on, the family tries to get TV reception and they happen to catch something about the ping pong ball being the "national ball" and decide to go to Beijing to return it. They're found by police who tell them they were actually headed toward Russia instead. The ball ends up causing quite a bit of trouble for the boys and eventually a solution is found of what to do with it. It's not the most exciting movie ever, but the scenery is beautiful, the kids were great and had me laughing and I really liked the end, which also made me laugh. I thought it was a pretty good way to end it. It was a good movie :)

I really don't know what to say about this movie. I really wanted to see it, but nothing exciting happened for nearly an hour. Basically, a nomadic family in Mongolia are moved into the city because of an animal plague and a boy named Bagi has seizures. He originally sees a shamaness about it, but they don't stop. He then saves a girl and keeps having seizures and everything's really weird. I don't think this is a movie you can watch just once. Altan Urag contributed Ijii Mongol to this film, that was cool, but... There seems to be a lot of symbolism in the movie and a lot to interpret and there's stuff dealing with shamanism and spirits. It gets really weird toward the end, where time stops and different 'presents' are shown. Makes you wonder what is actually in the present, or if stuff is actually happening. What was all the counting about? Why all the khadag? Was there a single present-time shown? It's a really drab looking film, though. Everything's snow covered, whether they're in the grassland or in a city full of communist-era looking buildings. Either way, I thought the acting was good and while not thrilling, I wouldn't say it was boring. I was so confused for most of the movie, I'll probably re-watch it next weekend.

My sister is obsessed with The Beatles, so obviously she needed to watch this. It's a story told through Beatles' songs. The acting was good and most of the songs were so well done in the movie. Like, I can't even listen to the original of Helter Skelter now, because it was incredible in the film. I only was able to sit through half-ish though, because the story line didn't really do anything for me, I was just waiting for another song to come up.

Ah, I really like this song. I think the video footage might be from the July rioting. I like this sound for them.

I'm reading The Bloody White Baron right now and it's increasingly getting better, but I can't stop thinking about Wolf Totem, which I rambled about in my last post. That book moved me. I might even say it was the best fictional book I've read.

It is cold here. Cold. It is August. This should not be. I want to enjoy the rest of my summer, thank you. I had my window open last night and my room was freezing this moring. I got my school textbooks Friday. $430 and two were used D: Fucking ripoff. For my Auschwitz class, I have to read Night (which I read in grade 10 and loved), The Diary of Anne Frank and The Reader, and some other junk. I'm looking forward to The Reader.

I don't think I posted about it yet, but I can't believe someone at itai_tegami got that Miya giraffe tattooed on them. Why? I'm sure that's something you'd want on you when you're 40.

Last night we went to this Thai/Vietnamese restaurant close by for dinner. I had Cashew Nut Chicken. Best thing ever? I think so.

Wolf Totem by Jiang Rong

I just finished this tonight. The last chapter was heartbreaking. I'm not an emotional person, but I just wanted to cry. This was an absolutely amazing book and it grabs you right from the first chapter. Kinda like when you get a new CD and you love the first track so much you just want to keep listening to it, but you think, 'I can't, I have a whole album to go through!' It's about students from Beijing who went to live with nomads in Inner Mongolia during the Cultural Revolution and Chen, the main charachter, becomes fascinated with the wolves and their relationship with the people and their spiritual nature and tries to raise a cub. I can't recommend this enough.

New Sound of Kiss video! I love the song, but Zayaa's voice is a little annoying. I don't get why they're dressed all ghetto-like in some scenes, though. Mongolian videos are terrible haha

I love this whole thing, but I started it at the female throat singer. She's amazing :O

It was so cold outside yesterday. We went to my aunt and uncle's and I sat outside with jeans, a sweater and goosebumps. We even had to put a heater on at one point lol. That is crazy for being August.

Anyways, they recently got back from a cruise that went to Denmark, Russia, Estonia, Poland and some Scandanavian places. They said it was amazing. They bought a beer mug from Poland for my grandpa (they're not really my aunt and uncle, just close friends of the family) and told my mom to tell him to go back because he'd be proud of what it's like there now. They bought a Matryoshka doll and a replica Fabergé egg from Russia. They were both so cool.

I decided to go back to uni again. I really couldn't afford to lose the medical coverage or risk not finding a second job. So, I have another two years of German to suffer through :( I have no idea how I'm going to make n between buildings in just 10mins though :/ That should be a challenge.

Went to Chapters last Tuesday and bought 3 books. At home, I was browsing the Chapters website and lo and behold, one particular book which I had paid $31 for, was only $20 on their site D: I placed an order for the books I bought (except I ordered one as a hardcover instead) and saved like $14 and returned the bought ones. Spending over $39, I got free shipping (4-9 business days) and since they were all in stock, they should've shipped in 24hrs. They didn't ship until after 24hrs, but they ended up in my mailbox the day after they shipped 8D

This time I bought Haruki Murakami's Sputnik Sweetheart, Jiang Rong's Wolf Totem and James Palmer's The Bloody White Baron. I need to take a break from Murakami for a while. I finished Sputnik Sweetheart last night and was just kinda irked at the end. I read one review that said, 'isn't he tired of writing the same book?' and it's so true. All his books are so similar that by the eighth one, I found myself annoyed more than enjoying it :( A book about Khubilai Khan is going to be re-printed for November and when that comes out I might also order the lone book on Sübeedei. That book has mediocre reviews, though. Actually, so does the one on Khubilai. Maybe I'll order John Man's book on Khubilai too, then.

Music wise, still lots of stuff I'm listening to; new and old. I might start a music post 'er something. I was listening to Tracy Chapman's first album when I was cleaning my room, but I had to switch to something else 'cause it was too depressing lol.

My German is pretty terrible now. I was trying to read something recently and couldn't really get through yet, but yet there were so many words from the vocabulary I learned. Ugh.

Blaaargh, I wish I was back in New York ;_;

I just got back yesterday morning at like 6 am, so here's my really long post about our trip with lots of pics. You can click on most of the pics for larger images.

We left on the 21st at about 11PM and our drive was 10 hours through Michigan, Ohio (the Georgia of the north), Pensylvania (where we'd never been) and New Jersey. We stayed in Weehawken, NJ across the Hudson River from NY because hotels actually in the city were crazy expensive. All we had to do was take the ferry when we wanted to go over.

Honestly, I didn't even care to go; it was my sister who really wanted to. My perceptions of New York before hand were: dirty, crowded and unsafe. Well, it's kinda dirty, it is crowded (especially coming from a city of 300,000), but I didn't feel unsafe at all. I had so much fun there, I'd go back in an instant ♥

The first day we did a ton of walking and it was really hot out. We first walked towards Central Park and looked for the Dakota, the apartment building John Lennon was shot at. That was pretty cool to see. You can stand right at the door where it happened :S

We then went into the park and went to Strawberry Fields, where his memorial is. My sister and I both left something there. Central Park is massive :O We didn't walk through it too much because you could probably spend a day just walking it.

We then went to Times Square and holy shit it was crowded. We went into the Hershey store (which sucked :(), the M&Ms store and various other stores. We ate at the Hard Rock Cafe there. I couldn't remember if it was Hard Rock Cafe or Planet Hollywood I didn't like; apparently it's both.

Then we walked over to the Empire State Building. My whole life I thought this building was black. Why did I think it was black? It's not black. I dunno. We saw the area where the World Trade Center towers were. It's a huge hole, but lots of cranes were in there. We could also see the Statue of Liberty from afar from there.

That day we also saw the Rockefeller Center, the NBC building, where David Letterman shoots, Radio City Music Hall, Broadway, the Trump Tower. Lots of interesting archetecture in the city. We tried walking most places, but had to get a cab sometimes. I can not believe the NY traffic. How these people can drive in that mess is beyond me! And like every street is a one-way O_o

I loved just walking around and looking at all the buildings. There was this beautiful chruch we saw amoung office buildings.

It was such a long day. When we were eating at the Hard Rock, we decided to eat there for dinner, but when I checked the time on my phone it was only 2:30. I couldn't believe it lol.

The second day it was supposed to rain. We saw Tony Bennett crossing the street lol. We walked down Park Ave for a little bit and ate at a cafe type place. We went into Prada 'cause my mom saw a bag she liked, and not only did they have a doorman, they gave us little plastic bags for our umbrellas. My sister was like, "I'm gonna tell everyone I have a Prada bag!" lol. Well, she does. The bag my mom was looking at, the saleswoman said was "thirteen fifty". I kept trying to work this out in my head ($13.50? No. $135.-wait, not enough numbers.) until I realized she meant $1,350. D:

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is massive and I'd be surprised if you could see it all in a day. You probably wouldn't even know if you saw it all, because there were so many rooms that didn't connect and went in different directions. That's my only complaint about it. We bypassed a lot of stuff that I wasn't interested it, like the Greek and Roman stuff and the American Wing. They had such an amazing collection. My favourite part was probably the Arms and Weapons gallery, the samurai and Tibetan stuff was really cool. That was fantastic, but nothing we did disappointed me at all. You weren't allowed to take pictures all the time though :( If you're ever in NY, I totally recommend going to the museum.

The rest of the day it poured, so we had to do our shopping in the rain :( We went back to Times Square because there were good shops in that area. It was actually pretty cold that day and the rain didn't make it any better. We ate in a 3-floored McDonald's lol. The traffic was also horrendous. It took us like an hour to get a cab. We just ate ack in NJ for dinner.

On Friday, we were initally just going to leave at our check-out time at 11, but we decided that if it wasn't raining, we'd ge up early and go back to NY for a few hours. We ended up leaving after 5PM lol. I'm really glad we went back. The weather was probably the best out of the days.

We went to the Soho area to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Annex. It's not a good location, because nothing is really out that way. But, the Hall was cool, although didn't allow pictures. You wore these headsets and walked around and were given information and listened to music and it changed where you walked to. They had a Jonh Lennon special exhibit there, which was small, but impressive. They had two of his piano's there, clothing, guitars, hand-written stuff, etc. On the last wall, inside a box, was a bag and and inside the bag was the clothes he was wearing when he got shot. I dunno, it was jus really weird to look at. There was also a working phone in there that Yoko Ono could potentially call. My sister says she does that in most of her exhibits though lol. There was also these panels of paper on the wall that you could sign if you were for stricter gun laws in the US and it would be sent to Barack Obama once the exhibit was over. I thought that was really awesome and signed it. There were signatures from people all over the world on it.

We then took the ferry (which my sister called the SS Foreignator lmao) to Staten Island, but only to see the Statue of Liberty closer. You just get on the ferry, sail past the Statue, get off and get right back on to head back lol.

We decided to walk away from that area to catch a cab, but no matter where we went traffic was awful because it was near the Brooklyn Bridge and a tunnel. We ended up walking past the Trade Center area again and tried forever to get a cab and finally headed back.

Today I worked at the second library and all was well, yet boring, until 5 minutes before I left some creeper started talking to me. He was waiting for the librarian to get his DVDs and started making small talk with me as I was shelving in the area. "You keep it clean here." "How long have you worked here?" "You work at another branch?" I thought nothing of this, and kept working. Then when I was shelving DVDs moments later, he started talking to me about the one he just returned. He then told me we could get together if I wanted to talk about the movie, because he wanted to see if I felt the same way about it as he did. *vomits* This guy was like 60 and gross D: D: D: At first I thought he was a cop (there's a station next to the library), but he was just in costume for a movie they're shooting down at the university, which he said I should come down to if I wanted a part ;__;

Moving on. Omg guys, let's get on a plane to China and go to this festival. Thin Man, Twisted Machine, Miserable Faith, Ego Fall, Honey Gun and a slew of other artists/bands I'd love to check out. It's in Hohhot, too D: Provided I'm there by next year, they better damn well have it then lol.

The Lemons' new-ish album is really good :O Some of the tracks are a huge step up from Red Album, but others are in the same vein. I found Өөр ертөнц particularly impressive.

A-Sound are good, too.

Ugh Canada's Next Top Model finished tonight. Nikita did not win like I wanted, but at least Linsay didn't win.

My profile finally has some substance to it 8D I'm unhappy with it though; I don't like how it's set up or something. So, I'll probably change the text over the next few days.

1. Sa Ding Ding
Ding Ding is just fantastic and easily one of my favourite artists. I know she only has one album as Sa Ding Ding, but she's so promising for her future releases, not to mention how incredible that album was. I love how she experiments with different languages and the music of different cultures. I also love her attitude of 'if people don't like it, whatever. I do it because I like it,' because I think she truly means that. She's really pretty, too lol.

2. Mongolia
Well, Mongolia has a great history, which I'm very interested in. The Xiongnu and the Mongol empire? Awesome. The country is freakin' gorgeous. The nomadic lifestyle intrigues me. I absolutely love the sound of the language, with it's rolled r's and that lovely l sound. Mongolia also has the morin khuur: video. ♥

3. Genghis Khan
Genghis Khan was such a badass. I love how even though he had an awful early life, he didn't turn out to be an asshole, but you definitely didn't want to screw with him. He was a fair leader, created necessary and fair laws, was an amazing military leader, loved his wife and mother, took in a child conceived with his wife and the leader of a rival clan, had his mother adopt children from conquered groups, instituted the creation of a writing system, was religiously tolerant, moved knowledgeable people throughout the empire, expanded trade, etc, etc. His military conquests were also totally badass, like starting the creation of the second largest empire there has ever been (only slightly behind the British Empire) when he was almost 50. I won't ramble anymore hahaha.

4. MUCC
They are just one of those bands that I can always go back to for good music. Not that I don't love their newer stuff, but I'm not as crazy over it as I was in the past. They're always changing and keeping things interesting. They seem like such nice, down to earth guys, too. And they're all talented at what they do. I can easily see myself being a fan of theirs for a long time, because they never really disappoint. Let's say they do, well, there will always be those older, freakin' awesome releases.

5. alan
I was completely blown away with her debut single and thus started following her. She never really matched that single, except for Gunjou no Tani maybe. Either way, she's released some great tracks and I preordered her first album before I even preordered MUCC's Kyuutai lol. She has an incredible voice and her high notes are oh so lovely.

The new Sound of Kiss song and video is disappointing, especially the song. The video's lame, but so was their other one, although this is worse. I mean, they all look good, but that doesn't help the fact that the song goes absolutely nowhere D:

But, you know was is awesome? BX's new-ish album. He has a pretty good voice and the album has a good sound to it. I LOVE this song, which I encourage you all to DL: Луйврын хот feat Агиймаа, Quiza. A good line up of artists there.

And what is this? Gazette not sucking? Yeah, DIM's pretty good. Ruki's voice still irritates me and he still sounds like he did back during Madara. I need to do a music post or something... I hate my random ramblings 'bout stuff.

We booked our hotel for New York. That'll be a fun 10 hour drive D: I don't know if I want to go to the Museum of Natural History or the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Oh my god I love this video and all it's cheesiness. Kinda how I loved that Beijing Huang Yi Ni song lol. It's kinda like that with various artists. The part with the old lady actually made me LOL. She just stares and nods at the guy. But, some of those singers are horrendous. I coulda found them better ones, but they were probably going for artists who are notable/made some impact on the music scene... but man D:

It's official. The new Alexisonfire album is awesome. S'all I need to say about that. They're on Warped Tour this year, but I don't think I'd ever go to that.

A-Mei Chang's new album is really, really good. I like her so much better as a rock artist, rather than pop. There's something about her voice I'm not too big on, but it's not like it's bad or anything. I was very surprised with this album, gladly.

Looks like we're going to New York in a few weeks. My sister's been dying to go. She wants to see Central Park and various John Lennon sites and leave some flowers on his memorial site. I'm looking forward to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and maybe Kinokuniya.

Starting September I can't work at the second library and lord knows what I'll be able to work at my library, as my school hours are right during the page shifts D:

I've been kinda talking to my parents about going away to school. They're not against it, but aren't really talking about it with me and it's bugging me. There's a lot we have to find out to help me make my decision and see if it's even a good idea to go, or if I'd be able to go. Sometimes, I think I really want to go, and others I feel like I'd miss too much here, or be unhappy there. I'd miss rocking out to classic rock with my sister and China has that stupid firewall and scary government. But, I almost think I need to go. Hohhot looks so lovely and the university has great programs.

First Ed McMahon, then Farrah Fawcett, then Michael Jackson and now Billy Mays!? Jesus... It's almost just like who's gonna be next? And then there's Jon and Kate getting a divorce D: I mean, I kinda expected it, but it's still really sad. Poor kids. Last week's episode really made me hate Jon, though. I know Kate can be a huge bitch n' stuff, but he's just a huge douchebag.

Lots of good music has been coming out and I've been finding lots, too. Alexisonfire's new album came out Tuesday, which I was very excited for. I'm really liking it. It's different for them, but has a great sound. This band called Namgar I am in love with. Their album Nomad is really awesome. It reminds me of what I expected Altan Urag to sound like. The whole folk-rock thing. I definitely recommend that album! HMV finally had Utada's This is the One in stock. I enjoyed most of it. Another good Aira Mitsuki single, new Shiina Ringo album, Jasmine's single was good, Tsubakiya Shijuusou, new A-Mei album, a flood of circle, the new Girls' Generation mini-album and I also listened to two Korean rap artists. I don't like rap or 99.7% of Korean music, so idk what that was about. One's a chick who's lyrics are apparently pretty dirty, and the other's the fastest rapper in the world. I still have stuff to go through, but I won't get to it yet.

I bought the Sims 3 ♥ I love the improvements from the Sims 2. Like, it doesn't take forever to go outside your lot anymore. The hair styles and building/decorative items are still sucky, though :/

Wtf MUCC? I don't want your shitty compilations. They just put out two in 2007. The only thing I'd consider buying is the indie b-side disc, since I generally don't like their PVs. Ageha was cool, but that's it. And that world tour... If they go back to the US, you know it's only going to be NY and/or LA, because the rest of the country doesn't exist.

I watched Genghis Khan: To the Ends of the Earth and Sea again, finally. As such, I decided to revisit my previous thoughts on it and Mongol.

I guess firstly, the acting in Genghis Khan was generally pretty terrible. Scenes that immediately come to mind are Jochi's death and when that dude tells Temujin his father died and like cries on the horse? Of course, there's plenty more general suckiness. Why did all the men have to look angry, stand all macho and talk really deep? Khulan and Borte both seemed to lack emotion or it was just off, I dunno. The actress who played Hoelun was probably my favourite in the cast, especially as the movie progressed. Khulan Chuluun in Mongol, who isn't even an actress, was better than most of Genghis Khan's cast. I like how Mongol is in Mongolian, but is something I ingore when comparing the two, as it's a Japanese movie after all. That would have been a huge undertaking.

Just looking at the two films, Genghis Khan looks like a made for TV movie or something, but yet it had quite a budget. Where did all that money go? Apparently there wasn't a big budget for Mongol, but I think it's a really stunning film. Mongol becomes a bit boring at times where you just think, "okay, this is all nice to look at and everything, but something needs to ~happen~ now." The music was also way better in Mongol. Way better. The version of Altan Urag's Davalgaa they used, totally made the scene it was in. Historical accuracy aside, I think Mongol is more realistic. Genghis Khan had some bad dialogue and they certainly were clean for living in the 1100s. Asano Tadanobu made a better Genghis, too I think. But, this time I found myself thinking, 'hey, this Sorimachi guy isn't too bad looking.' hahaha.

They both suffer a bit based on historical accuracy, but Mongol more-so than Genghis Khan. In GK, Jochi dies before Genghis Khan invades China, but he didn't die until much later. When Temujin goes back for Borte, apparently she was to marry Jamukha at the time, but I've never read that anywhere. I also have no idea about this Khulan. Apparently, she was one of Genghis' wives, but I can't see a woman being part of the army at that time and her (unsourced) Wikipedia article said she only accompanied him on campaigns. And it wasn't her that sucked the poison from Temujin's wound, 'twas Jelme, I believe. In Mongol, there's no mention of Toghrul Khan and various other small differences (who he gave the sable coat to, how he meets Boorchu, etc (there's more, but I can't think right now)). And what about him being enslaved by the Tanguts? Never read that either. Both movies kinda blew in the final battle with Jamukha, but I guess there's really no details of it in the Secret History lol.

To the Ends of the Earth and Sea is an odd title, considering it ends before they actually invade anything. Overall, as thursdaie said, they should have just made it longer; there's still so much great stuff ahead! Some of my favourite parts of reading about Genghis' life are his campaigns. And there's really not much about his childhood. Mongol actually focuses quite a bit on this (but totally left out the killing of his brother). I think this helps the viewer to have more of an appreciation for Temujin. There, you see this kid who has basically nothing going for him and is already in trouble at birth. I guess Sergei Bodrov set out only to make one film, but then thought of making a trilogy. According to IMDB, there's just going to be one sequel :( Makes me wonder how much is going to get covered.

I dunno when that came out, but new Altan Urag video. The song is so different compared to their last album. I didn't like it when I first heard it, but it's really grown on me. Can't wait for the album!

I keep finding Cantonese singers. There's just something about Cantonese I do not enjoy, but most of what I come by lately is Cantonese. I like Kay Tse's Yelling album. Japanese music wise, I grabbed Miho Fukuhara's newest single and am loving it. A great summer release and a rock-y a-side :)

Rapey McRaper is back :/ He's a nice guy, I guess. Just kinda creepy now lol. The other day, there was this guy in about 19 or 20 who smelled like alcohol (at 11am) and then this girl came in and they started arguing, then they went outside and argued and came back in and argued. They finally went back outside and were really loud. After the guy left, the librarian went to check on the girl and apparently the guy threw a bottle at her and bit her O__O

Today was my dog's birthday. The big 1-2. Poor thing, all she does is sleep all day. Hopefully that preserves her lol.

Ya know, for Family Guy being such a hilarious show, American Dad is terrible. I've seen it a handful of times when nothing else has been on and I never laugh.

I finished Haruki Murakami's Norwegian Wood tonight. Honestly, I was pretty bored for about the first half, but after that it was excellent. The story really surprised me, and the characters all had a lot of backstory and defining personalities. Yeah, I wasn't expecting a lot of what happened. Another great read. Actually, it's a pretty dark novel. Not like his others are fun times, but I felt this one really was like that. As I was reading, there's this part where Toru mentioned how he went to see Naoko in the hospital years before and recalls the oleanders and I immediately thought of Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman. That story in the short-story book is also about Toru.

Next to read is Fighting Techniques of the Oriental World: Equiptment, Combat Skills, and Tactics. I was stoked to find that *_*

I started drivers ed this weekend. Biggest waste of time ever? I'm seriously not taking in anything I'm being 'taught'. We just get work sheets that we either use books to answer, or stuff from the Drivers Handbook (which was like 8 months ago. Who remembers that!?). I have a test Saturday, but I have no notes. That should be fun. I also have to miss three 8 hour shifts at work for this shit D:

My friends and I went to see Terminator Salvation Tuesday. Christian Bale was in the movie D: Ugh. He was a lot better in this than Batman Begins though. But, he sounds like an old man when he yells D: Either way, he looked pretty good. It was a really good movie; very action-packed, but I haven't seen any of the other ones lol.

Any of you guys watch Jon and Kate Plus 8? Man, the premiere was so intense. It was so sad when Alexis was talking to Jon during the party omg ;__; But I loled at Collin calling the piñata a 'chiñata'. The next episode looks funny.

Metric's new album is so. freaking. good. I can't stop listening to it. And it's not just good because their last album (excluding Grow Up and Blow Away) was garbage; it's really good. Satellite Mind is my favourite track.

Finished John Man's The Great Wall and really enjoyed it. The 'young Mao' part made me laugh, but it was a really interesting and enjoyable read. Now I'm on Haruki Murakami's Norwegian Wood. I'm a little annoyed, tbh. Like, I absolutely love the way he writes, and this novel's no different, but is he incapable of coming up with different characters? It's always this sort of laid back, yet somehow unhappy guy and the mysterious, quirky girl who has problems. ALWAYS D:

I started practicing writing hanzi characters. I love the ones with a lot of strokes. But, I can't help but think of how wrong it seems writing them. Like, when you have to draw a line from left to right, or in some, imo, illogical order.

MiChi's new single is very good. She hasn't disappointed me yet, but I think the a-side was a bit better on her second single.

Intro to Chinese Rock + Metal

Firstly, this idea was totally and completely stolen from fearless_123's awesome Intro to Chinese Indie-Pop-Rock-Acoustic (which you can check out at music_envy).

8mm Sky (八厘米天空; ba li mi tian kong)

8mm Sky is a band from Taiwan. They remind me a little bit of Super VC, but their music is mostly instrumental with soft vocals on occasion. Their last.fm page states that they've played with Explosions in the Sky, if that's of any interest.

Metal band from Beijing. They've played many times at Beijing's Midi Music Festival and have been around for quite a while, but I believe this is their only non-demo release. It sounds like it was recorded in someone's basement, unfortunately. I can't say I'm really a fan of this album, but maybe someone else will enjoy it.

Ashura (阿修罗; a xiu luo)

Band from Chengdu with an interesting sound. There's nu-metal influences, but they're really not heavy. Their music reminds me of something fitting for a summer festival. Their album is not my taste, but somewhat of an okay listen if I'm in the mood. Sorry about the quality (really, it's terrible. .wma files!).

Band from Xinjian. Their sound leans toward pop-rock or pop-punk, but I find it quite enjoyable even though I'm generally not into stuff like that. I'm really looking forward to hearing new material from them.

Not much of a rock-ish edge here, but it's not straight-up traditional music, either. I think their last album has the most appropriate sound for this post and it's one of my favourites, anyways.

Ego Fall (颠覆M; dian fu m)

Originally from Hailar, Inner Mongolia now based in Beijing. Definitely my favourite Chinese band that I've come across. Yes, their album only has nine songs and, yes, they are that good. I also love the Mongolian elements they incorporate, but it's not to an extent that if you weren't into that kind of stuff you'd be bothered by it.

Frosty Eve (霜冻前夜; shuan dong qian ye)

Metal band from Beijing formed by the two guitarists. On their MySpace page, they say they are influenced by northern European metal bands and that definitely comes across in their sound. They list Children of Bodom as a specific band and I agree there's definite influences. There's also a cover of Megadeath's "Symphony of Destruction" on this release.

Honey Gun (糖果枪; tang guo qiang)

Miserable Faith (痛苦的信仰; tong ju de xin yang)

Beijing metal band formed in 1999. They started out as somewhat of a nu-metal band, but completely moved away fom that for their last album, resulting in a much less heavy sound. Their vocalist is pretty awful, but musically I was quite pleased with the album.

Shin is the departed vocalist of the band also called Shin. He's got a good voice, but I haven't been totally thrilled with the two albums I've heard from him. If you're looking for rock that isn't too heavy, I'd say he's one you should try out.

Beijing metal band featuring ex-Tang Dynasty member Kaiser Kuo. Chuan Qi was used as the opening song in the China segment of Global Metal. I was hoping to use another song from the album, but it ended up being my favourite.

Super VC (果味VC; guo wei vc)

British-rock influenced band from Beijing. They've enjoyed quite a bit of success; according to Rock in China, they had a number one song and have received a Gold Disk award. I really enjoy this band. Their third album, The Great Restoration, was released at the end of 2008. As good as it is, I think their second album is far better.

Tang Dynasty (唐朝; tang chao)

Tang Dynasty is China's first metal band. Formed in 1988 with two members from China and two from the US, they combined western metal and traditional Chinese elements. The band is still around, but has undergone various member changes. The band was another featured in Global Metal along with an interview with Kaiser Kuo.

Thin Man (瘦人; shou ren)

From what I can gather, they are a pretty popular band in China and their first album sold very well. They have performed all throughout China and have also played in Japan. There's something about this album that doesn't really do it for me. I've had it for a while and've listened to it a handful of times, but I just can't get into it.

Twisted Machine (扭曲的机器; niu qu de ji qi)

They were also featured in Global Metal and performed at Wacken in 2008. They're a pretty cool band, but it took me a bit to get used to their vocalist.

The other night I made cookies from cake mix. Ya know the kind that comes in a box? You can make cookies from that. They are so delicious. I hate cooking, but I don't mind baking. Maybe because the end result is better? hahaha

I don't think I ever mentioned my love for Madagascar 2. Has anyone seen it? I watched it a little while ago and I think it's even better than the first. Usually sequels can't do that, but I'd easily watch the 2nd over the original. So much made me laugh, but I really liked when the shark followed Mort all the way into the volcano lmao. Wow, I'm so juvenile D:

I have about a quarter left of John Man's The Great Wall left to read. After that I have Haruki Murakami's Norwegian Wood. After that one, I dunno what I want to do. I might continue my histoical book > Murakami book > historical book routine. I only have a few more to read by Murakami, but I'd like to read more of John Man's stuff. Makes history interesting to read, he does. There's humour in his books, which I like :3 Anyone have Murakami recommendations for when I finish Norwegian Wood?

I saw a little interview with Alexisonfire about their upcoming music video. They filmed it on the Maid of the Mist lol. Any of you guys been to Niagara Falls? Anyways, Dallas said George is doing more singing :/ I liked the screaming.

Penny Tai's new album is really good. I think it started getting a bit dull at the end, but maybe I was just too preoccupied with what I was doing. I didn't even find her ballads particulary boring, which is odd for me.

I've been seeing a lot of requests lately for FLAC and Apple Lossless albums. I just don't get it. The files are massive. I don't see the point in using 300+MB of HD space for one freakin' album :S

HMV finally had BoA's US album in stock. I am totally loving it and I don't even like BoA lol. Energize and Scream are my two favourites, but there's not a track on there that's really bad.

Lee Jung Hyun is baaaack :) I was totally excited for her new mini-album since it's been so long since she's released anything. I'm quite happy with it. CRAZY is really good and I can't wait to see the full video, as it looks incredibly hot. Actually, she's looking incredibly hot, too. It's really different from her previous stuff, though.

I started my summer task this week of studying Chinese. I'm telling myself not to be lazy with it and do at least an hour a day. Granted, people can't be home when I do this because I have to do it out loud to make sure I get the pronunciation. 你好! 我会说一点儿普通话. 我说得不好. I think it's coming along quite well. I can understand enough for a simple conversation in restricted circumstances lol. Wanna know where Peace Street is? I can totally tell you it's over there lol.

The new Dir en grey DVD is pretty kick ass. I thought most of the songs were really well done, but Hydra 666 and Audience Killer Loop stand out the most for me. Hydra 666 does absolutely nothing for me on the single, but live is another story. It's so much better.

I got my Ego Fall CD on Thursday 8D Why is nearly everything I get from China dirty, scratched or dented (that sounds weird. Is that right?) The booklet leaves something to be desired. I don't like how it's all grungy looking or the one random picture of their vocalist. Why did he only get an individual picture? lol Anyways, I've already expressed my love for the album, I'm just glad to own it.

I'm in the midst of making a post of Chinese rock and metal with downloads. It's hard work sifting through shitty music ;)

My poor dog is losing her hearing ;_; You can walk through the kitchen or come down the stairs and she has no idea you're there. She's in her old age now and I get so worried about having to put her to sleep. Oh God, I'll cry forever when that day comes. I just don't like to think of that.

rai_ei was talking about going to church in one of her last entries and it really got me thinking about how unpleasant of an experience that is. It totally sounds like a cult or something, doesn't it? That whole thing before peace about lifting up your hearts and it being right to give the Lord thanks and praise. We sound like drones lol. Hello, summer vacation!

One year of university - done! I wrote my last exam this morning at 8:30. Unfortunately, I bascially have to take all the same shit next year D: I really want to go to school overseas, but it's so expensive. No way my parents have that kind of money. But, going for my degree in German is just a waste of my time and me and my parents' money because I don't want anything to do with German at all.

Know what's really annoying? Chinese bands and their names. I have no idea whether to tag them in Chinese or their English name. Like, Ego Fall for example. They are Ego Fall and 颠覆M. Like, wtf? There's so many bands like this, too, where both are listed as artists on last.fm.

Speaking of Ego Fall, I ordered their album 8D I found a seller on eBay who had it. When I went to order it, I told my dad, "I remember the seller saying something about not paying until they send a message." My dad was like, "no, no, no." And I scrolled through the page just to make sure and couldn't find that. But, naturally, after I payed for it, I found the 'don't pay until I send you a message' at the top of the page >_< I hope everything goes well anyways. I think I get their line-up now, too. I thought that they had new members as of recent, but I think they just got rid of their dreadlocks, except vocalist dude who acquired them. Actually, I'm not sure about the one guitarist or the drummer 'cause I can't seem them clearly hahaha. The other vocalist must've left sometime in 2005 or 2006 and keyboard guy is new-er I think. They have a blog with beaucoup de pictures.

My uncle picked me up from work today and was like, "good news! We're putting grandma in a home!" lmao. She moved in with him after my grandpa died and he's sick of her.

Uh... yeah. I never have anything to write about D: I guess I can mention that my dog has developed an attitude in her old age hahahah. We tell her to go outside and she just lays on her bed, or doesn't come in.

It's always after I post an entry I think to myself, 'shit, I really wanted to talk about [insert thing here]!' I know it's going to happen with this one.

New layout! yourfuneralmama. I wasn't expecting for it to be dark, but I was tired of fiddling with the customization myself, so I just found one and used it. I'm not totally happy with it though. I may do some more tweaking. But I am happy with the way the header turned out.

I'm in exams now. I had my first one yesterday. I actually thought it was easy. I know I messed up one question, though. I couldn't remember what it was, so I made a guess, but the correct answer came to me at work D:

Let's see... Music wise:
-I like Fire's Aranshin album quite a bit. There's some great tracks on there, but there's definitely room for improvement. I think they should move away from the crappy ballads and even the pop-punk sound and focus more on their heavier side.
-I found a song by B. Misheel called "Wenn du mich von hinten fickst" Dirty lol
-I really like Kiwi's Boys Boys, especially with the video (except the audio doesn't sync with the mouth movements and the pics of the famous guys). [watch]
-I came across a Mongolian wanna-be-Korean girl group. Catchy, okay-ish song, but they lack the girly cuteness of, say, Girls' Generation. [watch]
-Kagrra's album's actually pretty good except for that one garbage song I can't recall.
-I love Jolin Tsai's new album. Hot Winter = ♥
-There is also something strangely addicting about Power Station's new album. 繼續轉動 is a great rock-y track.
-Ahhhh, wtf is this!? [watch] Apparently it's some German song they covered and changed some of the not-so-clean lyrics. I almost feel like a pedophile watching it hahaha. As terrible as it is, while I was studying on Sunday, all I could think of was "Jin, Jin, Jingisukan. Hey rider, ho rider, nice rider, go rider." Somehow I don't think Genghis Khan and choreographed dance moves should be in the same video lmao

Yanno... my room is like never clean. I do a full clean (vacuum, dusting, etc) once a week, but the next day it's back to how it was lol. It's not like I even do much in my room: sleep, occasionally watch TV, read, listen to my iPod, homework. I dunno :S

I finished James P. Delgado's Khubilai Khan's Lost Fleet last week. After two failed attempts at capturing Japan, you would think he wouldn't go back for a third, right? Oh, but he did D: Then after those 3 failed tries, he went to Vietnam, which failed. And then he tried to take Java. Guess what happened there? Reading about him kinda makes me sad. He did all this remarkable stuff and then fell apart at the end. In Jack Weatherford's Genghis Khan and the Making of the Modern World, he says that he was too fat to ride a horse. Now I'm reading John Man's The Great Wall. It's really good so far and très interesting.

My friend's in Japan now. I've talked to him twice since he's been there. He told me about crazy ladies on trains, expensive stores and forgetting his laptop bag in a cab with $2000 in it D: (He got it back though).

My birthday was Sunday. I had a lot of fun actually. Had chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast and opened my gifts. Then my parents said they had to "take me somewhere." They ended up taking me to the casino because I turned 19, which is legal age here D: They gave me $20 to gamble and bought me a drink. I have no interest whatsoever in drinking or gambling, but I spent the money and had a couple sips of my drink. Then, we went to Mexican Town for an early dinner. Then we went for a drive down Riverside Drive and later had cake :) Ice cream cake. Delicious.

I got two books of photographs of China, a bookmark, clothes, money, the Chapters iRewards Card and motherfucking Mulan on DVD 8D But, the first disc doesn't work on the DVD player in my room, which is where I watch 99% of movies. I love that multi-language video of I'll Make a Man Out of You.

Altan Urag have some new songs out. I don't like the track See Saw at all, but Herlen Barya is really good. Really, really good. It's better than Norovbanzad's and I really like that song lol. It could possibly become my favourite of theirs. But, who the hell is their singer? They only have one chick listed as a member, but she's the drummer and doesn't sing. I absolutely love her voice. Here's the song taken from their Myspace. I think it might be Хэрлэн баръяа, but that's not how it's not written.

I've also started listening to Children of Bodom and Enslaved a bit. And alan's new PV is, once again, gorgeous.

Ugh Ms. Hamasaki. She's been looking really odd lately. Like, her eyes are extra big or something and she always looks confused. Not long ago she went through a period of utter hotness, but that's gone. And omg @ those song titles for Next Level. What the fuck? The titles are getting worse as time goes on. I mentioned that at Batsu and another member agreed and said Load of Shugyo sounded like a porn movie title lmao

What is this? Shittiest week ever? I wrote two crappy exams yesterday, plus worked in between. Wrote a 700 word essay yesterday plus two other assignments and I have another exam Monday D: D: The one test, the prof gave us 54 images to study and she put 6 on the exam. 6! And it's not just like 'oh, this is this', it's like, 'who painted it? when? where is it? in which church? how do we know this?' Uggghhhh. My life is like a cycle of endless hate. If I'm not at school, I'm either working or doing homework.

Anyone watch The Office yesterday? I was not expecting the ending at all hahaha.

Ah, and speaking of spiders from my last entry. I let my dog out one night, and one cralled in so big my dad couldn't even kill it! He had to fling it out with a shoe D:

I hate needy people. Like, on Batsu someone asked for scans of the Kyuutai booklet because they wanted to see the Sora to Ito translation and it was "urgent". How are the request for lyrics ever urgent? I totally regret uploading the album. I should've just sent it to the people I like lol.

On the B type Kyuutai DVD, in the US Taste of Chaos segment, there's a clip of Miya signing some chick's Dir en grey shirt lmao! I bet that made him feel really good. Why are people so stupid? Like, why the hell would you do that?

So, I'm working 5 freaking days a week now. The new part of my schedule is every Saturday and Tues and Thurs 10-1 in between my classes D: On top of Mon and Wed 4-8. Shitty, shitty, shitty.

I got alan's Voice of EARTH (caps!) on Friday. I actually really, really like it. The booklet is so simple in black and white and all the new tracks are really good. The only problem is that she released 8 singles, which are all included ugh. I also kinda wish there were more of alan's vocals in the intro. DVD-wise, the chorus version of Natsukashii Mirai is a waste and the Together PV's kinda cruddy. Her hair looks terrible.

The weather we've been having is odd. Friday it was so warm people were out in shorts and t-shirts and we even had the windows open. And took my dog for a walk :3 Today we had a thunderstorm. Craaazy~ It's March; we should be buried in snow lol.

Ah, that song Koda Kumi did with misono is quite good. I can't help but think they could have done so much more with the PV though :/ Kuu's definitely the hotter sister hahaha. Misono's kinda weird looking.

I grabbed Lady GaGa's album last night. Not quite as good as I was expecting, but better than most American pop. I really like Paparazzi. The video for Love Game is really hot, but that outfit she wears at the end is not. Actually, I was under the impression she really couldn't dance from her other videos, but she does well in Love Game.

My Lord, it amazes me how much people bitch over John & Kate Plus 8 and the recent drama lulz. Rediculous most of it is.
